24th Ocrober:
Halloween's a comin!
The Eclectic in Tailors Hall
Late entry again I'm afraid. Seems to be just Keith and myself doin all the shite talk these days. Come on lads, can't shut yis up most of the time!!

We played Tailors Hall on fri the 14th. Twas a fine evening in a great and unusual venue! We were supported by (……………dammit, can't remember his feckin name - stupid poxy brain…….If your reading this - anonymous bloke - I'm really sorry. - send us a mail and abuse us if you like) who played a couple of his own songs and some fine versions of some great classics ('I heard it through the grapevine' was my favourite - brilliant voice). By the time we got up, the crowd had grown ever so slightly - It's great to see our loyal fans following us everywhere but we'd love to see some new faces. I suppose it's about time to put the auld souls up for sale, or just do some proper promotion!

It was a great gig all the same and we played for about an hour and a half then drank the place dry. Grainne, if you're reading this, I hope the lads didn't drive you permanently insane.

We've a couple of gigs to look forward to in November. The first is an unconfirmed battle of the bands in Tailors Hall - Thanks again Grainne. It's based on audience response so bring your friends and megaphones. The next one is an Electric Fix gig in Voodoo. This one is organised by Leigh O'Gorman (LPX) and the line up will be

SOFT CUDDLY TOYS
THE ECLECTIC
BAND ON AN ISLAND
KENZIE JOHNSON AND THE RAINMAKERS
LPX [closing set!]

In other useless information related news, it seems we've lost the use of our practice room in the shed out my parents back garden, the neighbors obviously aren't Eclectic fans!

My album of the month is 'Leaders of the Free World' by Elbow - feckin brilliant. Going to see them in Vicar St. on Wed 9th of Nov then we've a gig on the 10th and then Sigur Ros on the 11th,

It's a tough auld life!

14th Ocrober:
Rambling onwards.
The Eclectic and friends in Eamonn Dorans
So weve been pretty busy lately, 3 gigs, fairly messy but we got through. At the gig in DCU we only played 3 songs right at the end of the night, pretty annoying but Liam did win a bottle of whiskey in the raffle. This was promptly given away to his cousin (Ste's blood boils further!)

Next up headline at Radiator and yet more of a mess. Trev wasnt about due to being in hospital and the whole schedule got messed up, we didnt get on stage until ten minutes before we were supposed to finish, all pretty pissed off at the start but once we got going it went really well. Our quota of rock and roll cliche's have also climbed higher as we fitted in an encore! After Kev promised our last song was gonna be 'a short one' we proceeded to finish on the 2 longest songs we play, 'Break Me Out' and encored with 'Paranoid Android' (one Ive penned just recently!)

Fans of The Eclectic

Last night was our last Gigsmart acoustic college gig, played in some odd side room in Trinity's Buttery. Place was pretty empty and Ste was missing. I forgot to sing the 1st half of the last verse of 'Philosopher's Debate, The Road To Nowhere' apart from that it went pretty well.

Onwards and upwards to our gig in Tailor's Hall, full band, nice long set, should be great.

Goodnight Springton there will be no encore,

Keith.
