27th February |
After a bit of a worry about whether the gig would go ahead or not, Radiator on Fri the 17th in Dorans turned out to be a cracker of a gig. We arrived at dorans for a sound check and the PAs guts were scattered all over the stage. There was fair bit of panic to say the least. I don't think we sound checked until about 8.30 or 9. All the bands were getting very impatient, but fair play to the sound engineer and the bloke who fucked it up in the first place, they got it sorted. We fecked off to Micks to fart around for a while cause there's nothing worse that hanging around the venue waiting to go on. I can't take it anyway.
We didn't get on stage till about 12.30 but by then everyone was hammered so we could have played any auld shite and the crowd would have loved it. We all thought we played a savage set though. No fuckups no delays, damn enjoyable. Some excellent lunacy pulled off too, especially by Stevo, Frano and Brian (Who were nearly stopped by the bouncer with the small man syndrome - damn i hate small man syndrome) It seems we're off to quite a busy 2006 with four gigs in March: Also, we're trying to fit in some time to record some songs for our next EP. Fuckin hectic - but i love it. Kev |

7th February Forgotten Lyrics and Synths all over the place (The Eclectic are back) |
So we finally got back playing and rolled out the
laptop for the first time at the Vaults. Only used it
on 3 songs but should be bringing it into a lot more
over the next few gigs. Stage was kind of small but
sure wasnt too much of a problem. I blanked on my
lyrics again and the power setup was a bit of a mess
so my guitar pedals kept going off..... that makes it
sound like it didnt go well but I thought it was a
pretty good gig altogether. Nice to get back playing
anyway and the new song 'Your man who thinks he looks
like himself' went pretty well.
Off to play Gigsmart Acoustic this Wednesday. Me, Liam and Kev only. The other two are likely to be drinking in some dark corner! Gone are the days of lugging all our gear around for these thank god! Liams got an acoustic bass now and Im just gonna play into a mic... hopefully. Should be nice and relaxed with a few new songs on show. A new version of 'Summer Rain' just recorded will be getting an airing anyway. We should be back recording pretty soon, getting down a heap load of songs we have ready to go. Onwards and Upwards, Keith. |
